About the session

There are many different roles that people and organisations can play in the large, complex challenges that we face. What does it mean to do stabilising work, and when and why is that important? What about supporting organisations to transition into a different future? What might get left behind in change work, and how do you hospice things well, so that there is compassion in the process of them becoming redundant? And what about those imagining and inventing the alternatives - what do they need to survive and be normalised?

Drawing on the Berkana Institute’s Two Loop model Cassie will talk about these different roles, what’s needed and what’s hard about them, and give examples of how they’re being enacted today. She’ll close the talk by drawing on the work of Bill Sharpe who designed the 3 Horizon’s model, spotlighting examples of work that really are offering hope - pointing at different ways forward.
